Kiwi protection project Mt Manaia

I have volunteered to assist Todd Hamilton and the team to trap stoats, rats and other Kiwi predators on Mt Manaia. The traps are checked six-weekly and during dryer periods around summer more frequently. It is great to be able to support a great cause in McLeod Bay.

I have been also lucky to be part of a group to release Kiwi back in the wild, the programme is sponsored by the BNZ Bank. Todd organises the release on the base of Mt Manaia.
